My passion for Dia de los Muertos

I had two brother's pass away from a rare disease-see www.myelin.org for more information.  One of my brother's passed on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which is why I am drawn to creating this type of art.  In addition, I have a spiritual connection with Frieda Kahlo (a famous female artist from Mexico).  She had such passion for life and work and used bright colors in her paintings.

Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that celebrates and honor those who have passed.  It is celebrated in parts of Mexico and the US.

I recently visited a shop that promotes local artist's work.  The owner liked my work enough to include it in her store.  I have several portraits of Frieda Kahlo & some Dia De Los Muertos art as well.

A day out on the town-searching for beads

My friend and I found an amazing bead store on Shattuck Ave in Berkeley last week.  It's the largest bead store I have ever been in.  Great selection and great customer service.  Check them out here:

Polymer Clay cane

Here are some photo's of a cane I made with clay.  I made a stripped cane and wrapped it around a bullseye cane.  Very simple cane.

The Myelin Project is close to my heart because I lost 2 bother's to ALM and ALD (see the link above for more information).  In addition, I have a nephew who has it as well.  More to come.
