My passion for Dia de los Muertos

I had two brother's pass away from a rare disease-see www.myelin.org for more information.  One of my brother's passed on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which is why I am drawn to creating this type of art.  In addition, I have a spiritual connection with Frieda Kahlo (a famous female artist from Mexico).  She had such passion for life and work and used bright colors in her paintings.

Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that celebrates and honor those who have passed.  It is celebrated in parts of Mexico and the US.

  1. I am with ya! Having lived in Texas my entire life I was always aware and respectful of Mexican customs. Dias de los Muertos is my favorite holiday as I always honor my grandmother who passed while I was a freshman in college as well as my half-brother who passed long before I was born.

Happy to make your acquaintance through Indiepublic!
